Echo in Audition has suddenly started in recording

Hi All,

My students have been trying to record in studio. A setting might have been changed because now everything they are recording is giving an echo when recording.

We did notice the internal mic was on instead of the USB port part of the audio being used. We have corrected that but the echo still continues.

Could someone please assist me.

    You might want to check the smart monitoring setting. Even though you're probably not using the version where this was accidentally switched on by default, it's worth checking this first. There's an FAQ about this: I'm getting strange feedback and monitoring issues with the Audition 2018 release - can I fix this?

    To be an actual echo, it's almost certainly related to monitoring, as the latency involved is about the only thing that can cause this. But also it means that the return signal is getting into your sound device and being re-recorded, so you might want to check out the settings on that too.
