Edit selection problem

I am using the 2017 version of audition. The problem that I am having is when I try to apply an effect or a favorite to the entire clip (in waveform editor) it will apply the action to only a small section of the clip. Its always the same section about 2 seconds long. How can I fix this issue need the effect to stretch across the entire 40 second clip. Thank you in advance I am a novice at best with this software.

To apply an effect to the entire file, you can have either no selection, or select the entire file and it should process the entire file.

Favorites are a little trickier because some of them are duration/selection sensitive, so it depends on the favorite and how it was created.

Thank you so much. I new that it had to be something simple. I just had to go in and re edit my favorite preset!
