Question

Editing a portion of a single file (audiobook)

I am narrating my first audiobook and there are some edits I need to make to the spoken word, such as a mispronunciation.

Is there a way that I can record the section I need to and overlay or copy it into the book, without compromising what I have already recorded? As of now, it seems like my only option is to re-record over the area, but that is tricky as I stand to risk recording over a portion of the audio that is usable.

If you scroll down this Adobe tutorial page you will find a section on Punching in, and Punch and Roll. It's relatively straightforward to prevent the erasure of something you've already got, because the entire process is non-volatile; everything you do gets saved until you deliberately erase it.
