Editing ahead while listening

Hi there.

I am editin audio books and found a feature I wish I could do.

I am looking the waw spectre and looking for visible faults while listening the track.

I would like to remove clips and cracks ahead, without interrupting the playback.

Is this possible?

Strictly speaking it isn't possible - the CTI (Current Time Indicator) is exactly what it says it is, but in reality you can make a selection in front of where you're listening, and hit the Delete key, and the selection goes with absolutely minimal disruption to the flow of audio. Have you tried this?

Actually I managed to do this. I am able to use autoheal and delete, while listening in a different place. This makes the workflow much more efficient.

Only thing is, that sometimes (most of the time) there is a slight pause, or a clip sound in playback (not included in the waw) when I use autoheal simultaneously.

I am wondering if it is my computer that is lacking CPU or RAM. I am using Macbook Air 2020 i5 8GB.

Do you think a more powerful mac would do better?

Depends upon how much of a delay it is - on this laptop, it's a fraction of a second. I suspect that it would be very similar on most machines, and any improvement certainly wouldn't justify the extortionate price of a more powerful Mac!
