Effect: Generate Speech - How to add emphasis tags on words?

I'm using Audition on Windows 10 and the Generate Speech effect has been great so far. But I want to add emphasis on certain words. For example, the sentence "What was he hiding?" I want to put an emphasis on "was" so it sounds more like "What WAS, he hiding?"

I read in a few places that you can add tags like [[emph +]] but Audition doesn't seem to recognize that.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

All we know about Text to Speech is what's in the Help file Generating text-to-speech using Audition Otherwise it's down to to the Windows engine to do the generation.
