Question

effect that saturates depending on which workstation I use

Hello,
I use audition 2017 on 2 different pc, one at work and one at home
a particular effect (phone in essential audio) does not give at all the same rendering at home as at work.
at home it seems to work well while at work this effect saturates thoroughly.
Is this due to an audio card problem?
audio cards are Realtek High Definition Audio

Thanks for those who may have an answer.

Almost certainly you need to look at the peak values of the files you are applying this to - the results will be markedly different with a file where the peaks are, say, 10dB lower. All effects are designed to work with files normalized to a peak value of 0dB. The other thing you might need to check is whether any of the presets have been modified...

The one thing I can absolutely guarantee though, is that this has nothing whatsoever to do with your sound device!

    Thank you for your message,
    actually I just understood,
on one of the 2 pc the phone preset has been changed
I have a fixed limiter in addition which differs on one of the 2 pc
so I think I have inadvertently changed the phone effect on one of the pc
of the blow the telephone effect is with or without fixed limiter?

thanks a lot for your help
