Effects Permanent (How to Fix?)

I was toying around in Audition's multitracker and put a vocal remover on a song, then in the track below put the same song again (without the vocal remover this time) so it would be easier to sing along to. However, the song the second time around had the vocal remover still. I tried a different song in a different track and it kept the vocal remover, so I made sure my effects were all turned off and started a completely new file. The vocal remover was still there in the new file, so I uninstalled Audition entirely and reinstalled it, and started a new file. I checked the effects and again, no effects were turned on. I uploaded another song to it and, of course, the vocal remover is still on, and I have no clue how to turn it off. Even deleting the Vocal Remover effect from Audition altogether didn't help.

Anyone know any fixes to this/this permanent effect problem?

I'm presuming that this isn't an Audition effect, because it doesn't have one called 'vocal remover'. It has a center channel extractor - is that what you used? And when you said 'put it one a song', how exactly did you do this? There's definitely more than one way...

Yeah I meant Vocal Remove, but it is an Audition Effect. And I highlighted the audio, clicked effects, clicked vocal remove and now it's permanently inputting the vocal remove effect on all of my audio, no matter what (new files, new tracks, newly installed Audition).

You still haven't told me how you achieved your original result. If, for instance, you did this in Waveform view and saved the results, then that's what your file will now sound like - permanently.
