Error when editing video audio

I've been trying to edit and refine the audio from a video file that I've been working on in Premiere. And whenever I try to open the file, or save it or apply a filter, I get an error. "Audition has encountered an error reading or writing to disk. We recommend you save your work and restart audition." So it crashes, I restart audition and the same error comes up.

I've tried opening the file, a .mp4 file, straigh in Audition, same error as when I right-click in Premiere and try and select "Edit in Adobe Audition." The difference being that when I open it in Audition itself, the error message comes up and it crashes, where as with opening it via Premiere, the error comes up but the file still opens, but when I try and apply a filter, or save it etc. the error message returns and then crashes.

I've previously had no issue with editing premiere audio via audition...
