Question

Exporting multi track MP3s with crossfades

Hello All,

I've created multiple 100 MP3 song playlists that I listen to on long drives or around the house.

I'd like to import my files into Audition so that I can do cross fades between each song and then export each 100 edited song playlist back out to its designated folder as a "100 track playlist with the cross fades" and not one long mixed down MP3 file.

Hoping someone in the Audition community can tell me if that's possible.

Thanks!

Jim

No, I'm afraid that's simply not possible - to have crossfades they'd all have to be in a single file. That's an MP3 condition, not an Audition one.

Hi Steve,

I was afraid that would be the answer. I used to have an older version of Sound Forge that would allow for crossfades and still retain the individual tracks that but that was onlyfor export to a CD.

Thanks for getting back to me on that. I known this is an Audition forum...you wouldn't happen to know of any other product that can pull that off by chance?

Thanks again,

Jim

It's simply not possible with MP3 files. It's because you can't program break points in them that they can't be used directly for things like talking books, or anything similar. With a CD it's different - the CD format itself allows for track breaks, and that's why it works if you make a CD, which Audition is perfectly capable of doing.
