Hi Guys, I'm sure I'm probably being an idiot and have missed something really obvious!

I'm working with files recorded with binaural mikes - they import into my session fine and playback as required but when I drop them into my mix they sem to re-pan to centre. It's like there is some kind of automatic stereo field normalisation going on. I can see from the displayed file that there should be a strong bias to the right but when i listen, there it is right in the middle of the stereo field.

Is Audition trying to be helpful - can I ask it to stop?

The session settings match the imported files.

Correct answer ryclark

So they show up as stereo files in the Waveform view OK. You are importing them into a Stereo Multitrack session not a Mono one if that is where you are trying to do your mix?

Thanks ryclark - I think we have established that I am indeed simply an idiot ;-).

Was dropping it into a default track which was of course mono.

Thansk again
