Question

File Management in Multi-Track Session

Hello all,

Does anyone know of a way to organize different kinds of files within the main file window in Audition?

For instance, I can have a multi-track session open with upwardds of 100 individual files at a time. It would be really handy if there was some way to group all of the music files together in a folder, or separate list, so I could toggle between narration files and music files without having to do so much scrolling.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Adam

You are looking for bins, but they currently don't exist in Audition, I'm afraid. Loads of people have asked about them - okay, mostly people doing video, but not just them, and with big bitty jobs I can see the obvious attraction. Because Audition is rather closely linked with Premiere, implementing a scheme that would function better for round trips isn't the easiest thing in the world to do. Even if I knew what the likelihood of this happening was, I couldn't tell you because I'm under an NDA.

It's not quite as flexible, but you can do a lot with folders on the desktop, and dragging things in when you need them. At present, that's all I can offer you, I'm afraid.
