"Gater" effect, like from GarageBand for iOS?

So I'm trying to emulate an FX from GarageBand for iOS: the Gater. As the song plays, the volume goes "unmute-mute-unmute-mute" (I think?) at intervals based on the tempo. Is there someway to replicate that effect in Audition?

Not anything built into Audition that will do that directly since it is really more of an audio sequencer software type of effect. It might be possible to do something using Side Chaining in Audition where one track is used to modulate another. However there may well be some third party VST effects that can be used to replicate that type of effect like Stutter Edit .
