Good laptop for Audition?

I just bought an Acer laptop with the following specs,  I'm having trouble getting an previously-assembled Audition  project to run well.  Is it a problem with the computer's specs, processor, etc? Or something else?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi everybody, in audition, in preferences, I changed device class from mme to wapati and that seems to have fixed the problem.

When I attempt to work with an Audition file (created on my desktop computer) that includes maybe half a dozen tracks, it will play any track that is voice, but I can't hear any of the music tracks. The music tracks are playing, and I can see their levels, just can't hear any music.

Why have you posted the same thing twice???

Did you see my reply to your first version?

In looking at the MIXER view while in Audition, yes, all the pots (including those for music) are at appropriate levels. As a test, I created a new Adobe session, and imported a piece of music by itself, then placed it on the time line.  Audition runs, and I see on the meter below that there's a level, but can't hear the music (it kind of cuts in and out).  It feels as though for some reason the software is unable to process and play a music file.  As mentioned, I've considered whether this computer simply doesn't have the processing power to do a simple thing like editing/mixing audio, and that shouldn't be the case.

Any other thoughts?  My next move may be to take the computer with an Audition file on it, to the place where I bought it (and was told by sales person that the specs were fine for Audition) and ask if they have any ideas.

Many thanks...

It will be something else, probably - but we'll have absolutely no idea at all what it is unless you tell us specifically what difficulties you are running into...

Since you're using multitrack, have you checked in the mixer screen that ALL the tracks are routed to the Master and that the faders of those tracks are "up"?
