Grooms mom passed away shortly after wedding - looking to save the audio from her speech to her grandchildren

Evening community.

I recently filmed a wedding and the grooms mother was in hospice during the ceremony. She refused to miss the wedding and gave a final message to her future grandchildren, and just a little speech about who she is, where she came from, her life, etc. Super touching.

The audio isn't horrendous as is, but I would love it if there was someone out there that knew how to eliminate the noise of a cocktail hour in the background from this speech. I would love to give them a little better audio than what we have out of the mic.

I received the couples permission to try and get a better edit from the adobe community to try and help them out. Hoping someone knows how to do a better job than myself!

Dropbox - 020331_0260.wav

Thank you for anyone who is willing to take the time to take a listen.

J

I have downloaded and worked with your groom's mom's file using iZotope RX 6 Advanced. When I get home I will work some more on it, but the background noise has been greatly reduced almost to the point of being inaudible. There is some artifacting going on which is what I will work on when I get home. I assume you only need the audio from where the mom says "Hi, I'm...".

First, thank you for taking a crack at this. The groom has been pretty distraught and this will mean a great deal to them.

That is correct, just the "I'm" and on. We were able to capture some amazing video for him and we've created a separate video for him for which is the final piece. Again, thank you.

I wish she would have let me take her to a quiet room but she wanted to stay near the party.

I have worked a bit more with it in Audition and most of his mom's speech is pretty good - especially when you consider the party background ambiance. Tell me how I can get this file to you so you can complete the editing in Audition.

This is the first time I have been on this forum and can upload it to my Box.net account and send you an invite, but would need to know your email address to do that. Is there a way to private message on this forum?

I'll have a look, but I don't think from a quick listen that Audition's going to be able to do a lot for this - the cocktail hour isn't exactly continuous noise, which is what Audition can deal with. I'll give it a run-through with RX, which is rather more specialised NR software, and has a few tricks up it's sleeve, but I have to warn you now that cocktail parties are notoriously difficult to deal with.
