Guest Track in New Audition Can't Record

I record a podcast with call in guests. I use a Mac > Adobe Audition 2018 > Presonus Fire Studio Mixer > Skype. I recently updated Audition to 2018 and everything was working correctly. Today I started a podcast and my guest's track won't record his voice. Oddly it recorded the call in sound Skype makes but once he connected, it would not recognize his waveform/voice. It worked yesterday but not today. Any ideas? I'm dead in the water.

Problem solved. Skype recently updated and you have to go in to Skype Audio & Video settings and change the Microphone and Speakers settings to recognize your mixer. I hate updates...

    Mark,

I'm not ure about you, but, in order to ahve recorded in the past with Audition and Skype you needed two software extensions (Linein and Soundflower). Is that what you used by chance?

Because, as you mentioned changing the Audio preferences in Skype was always the case. I'm not sure how you would have done it previously. And with 2018 download of Audition and making the correct changes on Skype I'm yet to be able to record still. What are you doing to fix this?

Do you use any thrid party sofware ? Is anybody else still having this issu?

    Brian -

I use a Presonus FireStudio Mixer which calls coming in to Skype go through so that my Heil PR40 mic can interface with my iMac and Adobe Audition. I don't use either Linein nor Soundflower to record incoming calls. An action that usually creates problems is when I update my Audition and it doesn't talk to my mixer. More recently I've had two occasions where I opened up a new Multitrack session and Adobe won't record. I have to change my preference settings off of my Presonus Mixer, shut down Adobe, and then reopen with my pre-set Preferences. This has never happened before and I haven't done an upgrade lately.
