Having Trouble With My Input...

Hello,

So my set up is a fast track pro and a basic condenser mic... When I test it on Garage Band or Final Cut everything comes out crispy clear, however, inside of Adobe Audition that vocals are staticky and high pitched. I tried starting new files with different sample rates, but no luck thus far. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Mention of Garageband and FCP make me think you're probably on Mac.  The first thing I'd do is go to the driver page at Fast Track Pro Drivers and get the latest drivers.  Even if you already have the latest, it might be worth reinstalling.

    I mention this because, although I'm on Windows and the original Fast Track (not the Pro) but about a year ago I had a problem that sounds similar to yours--it turned out to be a corrupted driver and a reinstall fixed it totally--no problems since then.

    Thanks for the help. I downloaded the drivers. Now when I'm trying to create a new multitrack session that says "The device settings could not be applied because the following error occurred: The sample rate is not supported by current audio device."

    Actually that sounds promising.

    From memory, the Fast Track Pro could only support sample rates of 44.1 and 48kHz.  If you happen to have Audition set for something higher, then that's the message you could get.  Worth checking what sample rate is specified when you click New/Multitrack session.
