Help! I can't select punch and roll because it isn't being offered

Can anyone help?  I am on the latest version of Adobe Audition (monthly sub).  I use a Mac.  I have plenty of storage etc.

I can record fine on my AA but when I right-click on the record button - I'm not given the option to select punch and roll.  It simply isn't there.  .
