FF9-5-0044 [80004005]

Hello.

I am trying out Audition for recording vinyl LP's. (My hardware specs below)
I had luck after first installation, and recorded one song for test. A few days later, I get the error FF9-5-0044 [80004005] when trying to record. After that, I record silence.
(I can hear my turntable through the PC while!) (See attached image)

I can see that this has been a topic earlier, for Windows 7 users, but now I am on a brand new build PC with these specs:

MSI motherboard with an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12 core CPU and 64 GB DDR4 SDRAM,

running Windows 10 Pro 64. So, it's not firepower i lack! I do not have a PCIe soundcard installed, and therefore uses the on-board Realtek.

My turntable is a Audio-Technica LP120 with build-in RIAA, enabling me to use USB as connection between the turntable and the PC. Having said that, the ASIO4ALL driver can not be the solution for me, as that driver does not support USB sound-drivers (as far as I see).

So - any ideas? It's driving me nuts 😕😕

That's a Windows Driver error. Anything from Creative Labs is probably the last thing you should buy, as a search through this forum's history would reveal; their drivers are nothing but bloatware, and often cause untold trouble. But what you have there is a 'what you hear' input error, and that isn't the input you should be using. Quite often recording via that route is blocked anyway (blame the RIAA for that), no I'm not surprised that it doesn't work. You need to locate the correct input in your computer's sound settings.

I do not buy my hardware according to the opinions on this or any other forum.
I think it's a cheap shot to blame Creative for this error.
Now, the exact same problems i pressent with both the on-board Realtek, the PCIe Sound Blaster - and the USB line from the TT.
That's not a problem with neither Creative nor it's drivers. I think it's a problem with Windows, for which I hoped that someone else than me had experienced - and perhaps found a solution.

At this point I am aware that this is not a Audition-issue, as all other recording softwares doesn't record any sound - regardles any possible settings. Not even the Debut Video Capture records the sound.

THIS is my issue. And for that, I am asking for help and ideas.

ASIO4ALL does support USB, but that's probably not the problem. Initially I think you should go carefully through all of the steps in the user software guide for the turntable - this one. If none of that appears to be the issue, then report back with screen grabs of Audition's Audio Hardware setup (assuming that is that you are using Audition 3).
