HOLLOW SOUND?

Had a recent crash and did a System Restore. Since then, my Audition recordings have a hollow sound as if there were some filter or effect being applied. I have no clue what to do about it. I did follow the Invert directions, but that doesn't seem to have helped. I'd like to restore all Audition defaults, but I can't get my PC to Uninstall so I can Reinstall Adobe with my CS5.5 disc. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    ive seen the andrea service crash, it cancels the feedback from your speakers while recording. also check to make sure you have other things muted in audio device so your not  recording from two sources simultaneously.

    also try deleting preferences.

    Is it the recordings or the playback? Do older recordings sound the same? We need a bit more info about your system. Which version of Windows and what audio interface are you using? Are you recording from a microphone? If so how is it connected to the PC?

    You can make Audition revert to default settings by going to the settings folder and renaming it so that Audition will make a new default folder with the original settings. It will be somewhere like "C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\4.0". But it is more likely to be a problem with how your audio interface is set up particularly if is a built in soundcard using Microsoft drivers.

    ...problem seems to be in Recording. Old audio files sound just fine. I'm using Windows 7 and RealTek seems to be handling both recording and playback.However, when I type in "audio interface" something called HarmonAudioInterfaceshows up. I have no clue what that is. ...my setup has a cartiod mike run to a small audio mixer and from there to thecomputer's internal audio card....this system has been working perfectly well for years. Problems started withthe crash, I think. Geek Squad cleaned things up and did a System Restore,and at first I thought everything was fine....tried to Delete Adobe Audition and reload with my CS5.5 disc, but the PCrefuses to delete the program. I seem to be stuck with this problem andhaven't a clue as to what to do....most grateful for any suggestions.
