hi

i have add several markers to single files but i can't find in multi track , i can seen "dashes" lines where i have added my markers

i 'm just using audition cc 2018 (in the forum there is a warning to update 2017.5 , but i download the last version and should be 2018, with cc and date i did always confusions) and cc 2015 , i'm in single file Waveform and

1)

i have added 4 makers

2) right click ->insert in multi track

3) i can see the makers lines but i can't them

is there a way to export my single markers to the multi track clip?

Markers or marker ranges created in Waveform view don't transfer to multitrack except in the way you've seen them, and they wouldn't be very useful there anyway. Let me explain a bit more about it:

The way that the system is supposed to work (and indeed does, very well) is that you create marker ranges, rather than individual points. And you can give those ranges names. When you've divided up your piece like this, you can right-click on any of these ranges and you'll get an option to insert this into your multi-track session - complete with the name you gave it. This then gives you the flexibility to place individual clips where you like on the timeline, whilst still retaining the essential information about them.

The problem with waveform markers is that they are absolute time references as far as the original file is concerned, but in multi-track that means nothing, as you can slide them about anywhere you want on the session timeline. Hence, the dotted line indication that they exist - but can't really be used for anything sensible.

hi SteveG

i got it , but audition could change the markers time as soon i move the clip in multi track calculating the new time marks

Hence, the dotted line indication that they exist

yes but there is nothing to add a keyframe point in these dotted line accurately

but thanks

You can't change the marker 'time', because in a clip it's not a 'time' as such, at all. The moment you put a clip in the timeline, taken from an existing file, all references to time are lost. All you have is a position mark on the file, and that's all it's possible to display.

Of course there is - just zoom in. You can slide clips up to those lines with sample-point accuracy. And anyway, there's nothing to stop you putting a marker on the multi-track timeline in exactly the same point as the dotted line, if you want to line several clips up with it accurately. Just set the snapping to include markers.
