Question

How do I get the volume of a recording to be similar to the output

The sound in Audition is sounds as if I'm working behind a rock - very muted. When I bring it into Animate I sound like I'm shouting. How to I get the sounds to be closer to acutal.

I have not resolved the issue of being unable to get the volume to be equal to each other from Audition to Animate

Audition doesn't in itself regulate what you hear, but there are things that can happen that might make it seem like it is. Can you provide us with a lot more detail of what you're doing (like screen-grabbed waveforms, for instance)? There is one other thing I'd like to know - if you import a file that otherwise plays okay, does that sound quiet when you play it in Audition too?

Also, if you normalize whatever file you are using to 0dB, does it still sound quiet? If it does, then the fault you have is definitely outside Audition. In this case, you need to look carefully at your sound device settings. If it's Windows you are using and an internal device, then you will need to look at the settings for this. But as I said, we really need a lot more detail.

Okay, here (hear) goes. I record something in Audition. I work with it until it is how I like it. I then move it into Animate where it it needed. Then the sound is blaring so loudly it is unbearable. It does not in any way match the recording sound levels I had in Audition. Today is the third day I have dealt with this. I have gone over the training materials but can find no clue. Help

But, you simply can't tell anything about the level of a file simply by playing it. All you can judge by doing that is what your replay level is set at. Without the information that I asked for, we can get nowhere.
