Question

How to batch equalise male vs female voice-over?

I have around 50 clips, some a few seconds and others one minute, from a number of recordings: one male and one female. I've run a 50Hz low pass filter across them, as well as a perceived loudness (legacy) which has helped get the loudness levels right. However, the male voice carries a lot more bass so, compared to the female voice, it doesn't appear to deliver the higher frequencies and annunciation gets lost in the lower frequencies.

I have tried Vocal Enhancer under parametric equaliser to cut more lower frequencies and lift the upper ones but this is subtle. When comparing the two they still sound distinctly different.

Is there a way of batch processing all clips so that the graphics are equalised? That is, the lower frequencies of the male match those of the female?

TIA

Do you really want your male voice to "sound like" your female voice in its lower frequencies?  Surely, one of the definitions of difference between the voices of the two sexes is the different frequency ranges inherent to each.

Indeed, I would like to maintain the basic characteristics of male and female voices, but the male voice is quite different. They were recorded on different mics, which doesn't help, and it's the clarity between the two that's different. It's not muffled, but it does sound less clear due to the lower frequencies dominating the mid and highs.
