Question

How to create a unique clip from waveform in multitrack

Hi there, I'm working in Audition, in multitrack, and I'm hoping to be able to highlight a clip, then drop it down to the next track as a unique file. Currently I can highlight the clip, hold down option, and drop the file down — but then if other changes are made to the file above, they can affect that clip too, because it didn't make a unique copy. Is there a quick way to do this, rather than highlighting, going into waveform view, choosing save selection, then putting that clip into multitrack?

I swear I was able to do this with an older version... Any help would be hugely appreciated! It would make my job so much easier if I could just drop down unique clips in the multitrack view. Thank you!

Gloriously simple - right-click on the clip and select Convert to Unique Copy...

Most people seem to be unaware of the possibilities of right-clicking within Audition - they are legion!
