How to cut a letter from a word ?

Hi,

I'm using Adobe audition. How can I delete a letter from a word without denaturing the prononciation ?

Let say, I've recorded the word "bits" and I want to remove the letter "s" from that word.

I've seen by the past a tutorial on youtube, but I can't find it again. Can someone post a link to a such tutorial ?

I would try and find a singular 't' from another word and edit it on to the 'bi'

This is where the Spectral Frequency Display can really help. I would zoom in on the word in the Spectral Frequency display. Then you may be able to visually spot and isolate the high frequencies of the 's' and use the Auto Healing Brush to remove it. The problem may be, though, separating the 's' from the 't' without damaging the 't' sound.

Many ways you could do it

Without seeing it or hearing it I would probably split the clip so that just that word was in the clip, then you could use a parametric EQ on the clip with a narrow cut in frequency around say 5k but you will have to move it around to isolate the 's'.

You could also try a fade on the clip to 'soften' the 's'.

I'm sure there will be other suggestions forth coming
