Question

How to delete my duplicated voice from my podcast guest's audio track (Context: iPhone recording)

When I record podcasts, I always ask my guests to record their audio locally on their iPhone to ensure high quality and to eliminate connection issues. Although I always ask my guests to wear headphones, sometimes they don't. What then happens is that my voice gets recorded on their audio track when it comes through on their iPad or PC speakers.

Is there any AI audio "magic" within Audition that can automatically detect and remove my voice from my guest's iPhone audio recording? I've tried AutoGate, but it didn't work on the episode I'm currently editing because my voice was very loud on my guest's speakers.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Unfortunately what you need to do might be a bit complicated - and there's no guarantee as to how well this will work anyway. You have a recording of you locally, and that is what needs to be the source for gating. So, you set the gate to reduce the volume in the remote track when you speak. You'd have to attempt it like this, because there's no way you are going to reduce a loud external voice on a remote track without being able to detect it reliably - and the only reliable source is your recording of you - if you see what I mean. You ought to be able to set this up using the auto-ducker - that can work comfortably across tracks.
