How to improve a recording made while wearing a covid 95 mask

Using Rode Wireless II mike (normally good results) while masked with N95 resulted in muffled sound. Anyone know of tutorials to improve this specific type effect in Audition?

Often you just need to use the EQ to provide a boost at the affected frequencies, which will be from about 1.5kHz to about 6kHz. But you have to bear in mind that much of the clarity simply won't have been captured in the first place, so it's never going to be perfect. Also you will inevitably end up boosting any background sounds at the same frequencies, so the result isn't going to be as good anyway unless it's a constant noise, in which case NR will improve the situation.

That sounds like good advice, thank you. I was hoping that some sound professional might have come up with a custom filter that could be tweaked, as so many recordings have been done wearing masks by necessity for almost 2 years now.

I'll give a try with EQ as you suggest.

I'll tell you what a 'pro' does - listens to what there is and compares it to a model in their head of what a person's supposed to sound like, and adjusts accordingly, as far as they can. There is no 'one size fits all' filter model that will work, because every recording's different; often quite markedly. Initially you need to be accustomed to what clear speech actually sounds like on your monitoring system - without that you won't have a good base for your adjustments.
