Looking for a practiced Adobe Audition expert in the US (or perhaps Canada), somewhat preferably on East Coast or in/near New York, but anyone who's been using it for a while and can quickly walk me through two basic activities.   Would much appreciate hearing from such a person—can you kindly write to   [email address removed - Adobe policy - Mod]  ?

As SuiteSpot points out, you won't break anything by playing about in multitrack view.

And of course, as long as you work on a copies of your source files, rather than the originals, you can play around in waveform view as well.

Here are a few resources to help:

Mike Russell: How to crop audio

Mike Russell's tutorials

Jason Levine Audio 101

and, of course,

Adobe's Audition support page

Why not tell us what the activities you need help with are?

.

Many thanks to you for responding to my query. Apology for my having been
unclear. Was my first posting (actually, ever) on such a site.

I need to learn to edit unneeded audio out of Adobe Audition. It's awfully
basic, and I think I sort of have the hang of it, but am feeling insecure.

Have you been using this software for a while?

best—
Lee

As long as you edit in Multitrack view you can't really go wrong as you can pretty much undo anything

It is only when you are in WaveForm view any you 'apply' changes that you make them permanent
