How to measure the pressure level of the background noise?

My college teacher told me to finish a project to measure the pressure level of the background noise by using sdk in audition 3.0,But how can I get started?

Have no idea of making a total new plug by myself.

I doubt that there are any still left who could tell you how to use AA3 SDKs. And since AA3 was discontinued by Adobe quite a few years ago i don't think that the SDK for it is still available. AFAIAA you can only now download SDKs for a couple of the newer versions of Audition. There are some resources and getting started guides here Adobe CEP · GitHub

Presumably your teacher is asking you to measure the SPL (sound pressure level) of background noise. But is this noise on it's own or noise in the presence of a louder wanted audio signal?

Thank you for your patience. This is the case. The student research project I participated in is the evaluation of indoor speech intelligibility. Simply put, we need to use the tools of the convolution clipboard to calculate the parameters of the study after measuring the impulse response in the room. These include the D50 and G50, which we have solved. The only thing we don't know is how to use audiotion or Matlab to calculate the noise level under the octave band. In the past few days, we have tried many methods that still cannot be solved.

I'm afraid that this is a bit beyond my area of expertise with all things Audition. Don't know if anyone else may be able to help though. Unfortunately not many people visit this older section of the Audition forums these days. So it might be worth re-posting in the AA CS5.5 and Above part of the forum.
