How to sync multiple audio tracks in audition?

Hi! I recorded 4 audio files from two separate mics that have their own built in SD cards. Why 4? Welp....2 of the tracks are simply 9db lower than the previous.

 

My goal is to algorithmically sync the two files in audition, however! 

 

There appears to be no easy way.

 

And thus, in order to actually get my job done, I am very, extremely, irrationally (some may say) irked to have to open premiere and use its sync feature.

 

Do keep in mind, Im a totes newb to Audtion and maybe I'm missing some workflow? 

 

But methinks....there is no such feature. Yes I did look into "automatic speech alignment" but I do not believe that is the correct tool for this particular job.

      Can't beleive its five years later and adobe still hasn't added this! Seems like Adobe doesn't care about Audition at all!

        That's true; it seems like Adobe isn't prioritizing innovation with Audition.

          Same here. 4 audio tracks, one recorded for ambience with external recorder. Since it's so simple in Premiere Pro, I never bothered with claps and now I can't find a way to align my ambient mic. Great.

          Only workaround, aside from using non adobe software is to sync in
          premiere, then import to audition 😂🤣 --

              I'm in the same situation. I'm very experienced in Premiere Pro, but lesser experienced in Audition. I'm working on a podcast with four people recording in different locations. We all recorded tracks locally but were also on a phone call which I recorded. I was expecting Audition would have a feature like Premiere Pro's "Synchronize..." so that I could have the phone call as the reference track and all the other tracks sync up with it.

               

              It seems I'll have to use Premiere Pro and export audio-only for now.

                All you have to do is decide which one is the 'correct' one, and make a careful note of the exact time length of it. You should be able to stretch or shrink the other file to the same length, which gets over half of the problem, and indeed it might solve it completely. If it still sounds wrong, then use the automatic time alignment tool to fine-tune it. (Time and Pitch>Stretch and Pitch - don't use the pitch part).

                Not clear. How exactly did you record these files? Just using different mics wouldn't put them out of sync, unless you recorded them on two separate recording systems that weren't synchronised. So what exactly did you do?

                1. Correct, my microphones, the tascam dr-10 each have their own SD card per microphone. So I have two recordings with 2 files each for a total of 4 files started within 3 minutes of each other that need to be syncronized. My primary annoyance is that I have to use premiere to sync them at the moment, and I am looking for a way to sync in audition only. Thank you!
