Question

How to turn on/off auto assign track colors

Hey Everyone, thanks for your help and your time.. I just updated to Audition CC (Build 12? The newest update October 2018) And now whenever I create a new track Audition auto-generates a random color for me, how I turn this off? It seems the ability has disappeared from the preferences?

Thank you!

I may be late to the game if they have updated since your post but I (using AA 2019) see in Preferences: multitrack: "randomize Track Color".   My issues is in the past, I could change those track colors and keep them, staying the same each time I opened a session.  Now they go back to factory settings with the icky dark purple.

Turn off the above setting if you want the default the same each time. then all the tracks start as the default 'green' for Tracks, 'dark blue' for Master and 'yellow' for Busses. All are customisable thereafter and if you want to maintain a custom track colour configuration you will have to save it as a session template. However any track colour scheme that you set up in a session are saved within the session file and should return when you reopen a Multitrack session.

I've expressed my opinion about this as well in this thread. Randomize should be an option, not a limitation.
