Question

Hung up at 99% while saving a wav file

This just started after the latest "upgrade" (August 2020).

I used to be able to save a 15-30 minute mono WAV file in just a few seconds.  Now, it has been stuck at 99% for the past 10 minutes.

I'm using Windows 10, sending the signal through a KVM Extender via Cat5.

I also tried "saving as", and got the same lag time.

And, the same thing happens when I try to save as an mp3.

This is wasting a crazy amount of time and putting me way behind.

First thing you should check is whether there's another window open behind Audition that wants a response...

I'm not totally sure what that means, Steve. However what I can say is the only other window that would be open would be my email.

That said, like in my posting I described that this has suddenly begun happening. There are times when I've had 8 to 10 windows open, and have saved without incident.

It happens sometimes that notification windows (usually asking you to confirm something) don't always open in the correct place; they can disappear behind program windows without you being immediately aware that they are there, although generally there's also an indication on the taskbar. I'm not saying that this is necessarily the cause of your difficulty, but it's something you need to check on first, especially if the software hangs for ages. The KVM extender shouldn't make any difference - it's only providing control signals.

Other things: does the save eventually succeed? If it doesn't, what happens? And is this to a local drive on the machine?
