Question

I can volume check but when I try to record in Audition, nothing records

Just getting started in VO. Had been using Audacity because it was free.
Decided that long term, switching to Adobe Audition was the right play.
\
I downloaded and installed Adobe Audition/
I have a Fifine T693 USB microphone plugged into my Dell laptop running Windows 11.

I can still record in Audacity. I can record in Audition off my Dell internal mic.
I can test the volume level in Audition.
But when I try to record with the Fifine mic in Audition, it doesn't record anything.

After having researched similar topics in this community, I have confirmed that I have the Fifine mic as default input.

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John

You probably need to select the mic in Edit>Preferences>Audio Hardware. If it's a USB mic, you'll need to make sure that the device class is MME and that your microphone is selected as the Default Input.

Steve,

Thanks for the reply...my post earlier sorta ran off the side of the page...but I had previously looked for similar examples of my problem in this area and have already verified that DEVICE CLASS IS MME  and my USB mic is default input.

Looking for the next thing to check. I would appreciate any and all help.

Thanks!

John

Nest thing to check is your security settings - depending upon how your machine is set up, you may need to allow Audition to access a USB input.
