This community has been so helpful I thought I'd ask another question. When editing, when I hit the space bar to play a section, I hear a burp of static, and occasionally in the playback. It is not in the file, but I hear it. It's making editing incredibly frustrating. I'm at a complete loss.

I'm using a new install of 25.2.0.123 build, a wireless keyboard, and record with an SM-7B through a Scarlett Solo. I record speech at 44100, 32 float in stereo. There have been no changes to my audio hardware.

This is a rough recording of the sound I'm hearing. I recorded it from my headphones with my phone. It's not great, but you can hear what I hear.  If it matters, I have tried all outputs and I hear it no matter where in my audio chain I source the playback

If you are in Waveform view, then this sounds a lot like a buffer issue - you may need to relocate the buffer into an area of its own. You can alter the location of it by going to Edit>Preferences>Media and Disk Cache and choosing a new location for the Primary Temp file. Ideally it should be in a folder of its own on a separate drive, because then the OS won't be able to interrupt it. If you can't do the separate drive, then just making a fresh folder usually helps a lot.
