Question

I'm trying to tie off a sentence, I need help 'faking' it.

Okay so I have an interview, there is a section that is great and I want to use it but she continues on so the last word hasn't got the lower pitch that a person would usually use to finish a sentence. How do I do this in Audition? I have been playing with the pitch shifter but it sounds bloomin' awful.

Could you find the correct syllable from somewhere else in the interview?

You could cut and paste from later in the interview. Try and do it mid-way through a word in order for it to sound better.

Have you considered using Effects > Time and Pitch > Pitch Bender (process)...

This effect may offer the tail off you're looking for.

I've not yet found a way of doing this either easily or well in Audition, but you can sort-of do it with Melodyne. How well it works depends entirely on the context, and it's a situation that I always try to avoid!

The limited success I've had involved altering the pitch of just the word part required using the Manual Pitch Correction effect, and a lot of experimenting. Melodyne gives you a lot more options, though.
