Imported stereo music file playing in one ear in podcast project

I imported a mono vocal file (recorded in audacity) into Audition. It was fine. I could hear it in both ears. I imported a stereo music file into Audition onto a second track, and I can only hear that music play in one ear. (left)

I cannot figure out how to rectify this. Although I hear the voice just fine in both ears, the music "feels" disturbing since it's only coming through the left ear.

I'm using a Focusrite usb audio interface; that's what I have my headphones plugged into.

I originally recorded the voice in audacity because Audition was crashing every time I tried to record.. and I don't have time to technically sort that out.. so I'm only using Audition right now to edit the podcast (just adding music). I just need to know how to keep the stereo music audio file from only coming through one ear. Thank you in advance, and I apologize for my technical retardation. I'm no sound engineer 🙂

I found a solution; I don't know if it's the right one, but I'm posting it in case anyone else has the issue.

The track I had my music file on, track 2, was set to "Master" in the output section. I changed it to "Stereo: Speakers (Focusrite USB audio) ..and it fixed the playback to two stereo channels.

Everything's good now.

When you set the session up, was it a stereo one? Routing the track to a direct output instead of the Master track means that it won't show up in your final mix. Can you do a screen-grab of your session and post it?
