imported text to after effect cc 2018 not showing convert to text option

I'm trying to import a psd (exported from ai. retain layer sizes, everything!) into after effects to animate individual layers, already exported as RGB, but I'm just getting a single, flat psd layer. Im going crazy!! Help!

Er, this is the Audition forum! We do sound. I think that you need to re-post this in the After Effects forum.
