Indexing sound clips

Hi

Is there a way to import and organise sound clips (maybe in audition) in the same or similar way that photos and videos can be organised in Lightroom?

Many thanks

Jim

Can you describe a bit more how you want to organise your audio clips? Is it by title, by date or some other criteria? A bit like images audio files can contain metadata describing their contents but a lot of it isn't written into a wav or mp3 file by default.

It's not something that Audition can do but it can read any stored metadata and show it in the Metadata window.

Most operating systems like Windows can already search for and list audio files by title and/or date plus a few more types of information that are normally hidden in the Explorer. Right click on the column headers to see all data that can be shown. mp3 files may be slightly different from pure wav files and there are quite a lot of apps available for investigating, listing and editing the metadata stored in them. Search online for 'id3 tags'.
