Is Audtion only to edit videos?

I have a copy of Audition CS6. Every where I look it's being used for editing videos. Can it be used for music too, especially for trying to match levels of songs before burning them to CDR?

Audition isn't a video editor - indeed it can't edit video. It is used for creating all sorts of things that are audio-based - like radio, music, podcasts, anything like that. Its use in video is usually only as a means of improving the overall levels and general mix of the audio. You couldn't, for instance, use it to edit dialogue directly on its own because you'd lose the sync with the pictures.

Yes it's perfectly possible, even with CS6 (which is rather long in the tooth these days) to match up track levels and burn them to a CD.
