Is there a dictionary of terms used in the User Guide for Audition?

There used to be a glossary, but that was back in the days of (very expensive) printed manuals, and it caused a degree of controversy, and indeed this was all related to peoples' failure to agree on acceptable definitions of things. Although it has to be said in the same breath that this was mainly about accurately defining generic terms, rather than software-specific ones.

But as I mentioned, the cost of creating glossaries and indexes isn't cheap, and that's why it's unlikely to happen, I'm afraid. It is a matter of public knowledge that Adobe's manuals leave quite a lot to be desired - but there again, so do those from many more software producers, especially of software that's intended to be used in a professional environment - suitably qualified employees are supposed to know all this stuff, apparently (even though many of them clearly don't). Another snag with indexes particularly is that in an on-line manual that gets updated, which is what Audition's is, the cost of re-indexing sensibly is especially expensive. It involves both a text trawl, and then some human contextual input to be really effective, and the shareholders don't appreciate that at all, especially when it applies to multiple products.

Generally though, if you put a term into the online manual 'search' facility, you'll get enough responses to be able to figure out most things, so I'd try that initially. If you get nowhere with anything specific, then ask on the forum - one of us almost certainly can throw a bit of light on the more obscure stuff, and it usually doesn't take too long to get an answer.
