Isolating Parts of a Song

Hello, I'm fairly new to Adobe Audition and I was wondering if it was possible to view a imported track's isolated parts. For example, I'd like to view a track by bass, instrumental, and vocal in separate clips. Is this possible or do I have to use paintbrush or sound removal?

    If it is a track that is already mixed together then no you can't separate the different parts out from one another in Audition. There are some apps that claim to be able to do so but what you get after separation is nothing like the original multitrack recorded parts. Can be used to alter the mix to some extent but physics just doesn't allow you unbake an audio cake I'm afraid.
