Question

Issue with panning and silent multitrack export

Okay the issue is quite specific.

I have tracks with the output sent to a bus.

The Bus output is sent to the master.

However if this is the case I cannot pan my tracks.

So i set the bus to output to my speakers plugged into the headphone jack of my laptop. Now I can pan, but when I export, the Bus is silent.

I need the Bus to not be silent in the export and I need to be able to pan.

I don't know what to do.

If you have a mono track and send it to a stereo bus, then both the pan control on the track and the one on the bus will work, and this will all turn up in the output - I just tested this to make sure, and it does. You haven't said, but the one thing that is important is that it has to be a stereo session in the first place...

I have 2 tracks connected to this Bus, called Car Reverb. If I can figure out how to solve my issue here I can do so for my other busses.

The character Michael is stereo, but the chracter Stickers is mono. (couldn't record in studio due to pandemic so this how I recieved my dialogue).

I adjusted the pan on the Bus, however it drowned out the character Michael. Even then the the character Stickers was still coming through on both speakers. Sorry if i'm not understanding what you're trying to tell me. Its just odd how the panning works when the Bus output is set to headphones, but when I export with that configuation that part of the project is silent.
