Issues with Rode NT1 AI-1 and Audition

We are having issues with our Rode NT1 AI-1 and Audition. We are using the USB 3.2 ports on our ASUS L510 Ultra Thin. In Audition, when we press record, nothing appears to happen and then the mic's power shuts off. No error pops up until we try to close Audition, and it tells us that it is in the middle of processing a file. However, once we close Audition, the mic's power comes back on immediately. We have tried to program Audacity, and it records just fine, but there are playback issues (we have to unplug the mic in order to playback). We've check Audition's settings and this mic is set as the default mic.

We're running Windows 11 and the latest version of Audition. This laptop is brand new, and we've only installed the programs listed above. Does anyone have any ideas on settings we can check to get this working properly?

I don't know how, or even whether, this is implemented in W11, but it certainly is on Macs - and that's security settings for anything looking like a mic input. Certainly on Macs, if you don't specifically allow then, they won't work. That's caught out a few people!

Also make sure make sure that you've updated the firmware and ASIO service installer.

Thank you for the response Steve! We've decided to return the laptop since it seems the CPU wasn't strong enough to handle the mic. But the next laptop we get, we will check all settings.
