Levels are lagging when recording audio

Question

Not the biggest deal but posting because of curiousity. When I use any other audio recording program the audio levels from the mic are reactive and snappy but for some reason they lag in Audition?

Is this a stupid setting I am not aware of? How does such a major company stuff something up that so many free programs have never had an issue with? Why are the levels lagging in Audition? At this rate I'm genuinely never using Audition again

One common cause of this happening is that your video driver isn't up to date - it's worth checking that regularly, as some manufacturers (Nvidia especially) update them every few weeks.
