Live Audio Record - Audio Cutting/Dropping Out on Certain tracks

Question

I did an hour long multitrack record of nine sources.

When I opened the project it only showed me 20 minutes of audio. I drug the clips out to see that two tracks were shorter than the rest. Apparently they started dropping audio for several seconds at a time, both tracks dropped at different rate being different lengths themselves.

They have an amplify effect on the track and that is all. There is a multiband compressor on the master track.

I am recording using an ethernet/usb feed from my x32 soundboard. The mics that cut out were stereo mic feeds from audience.

Any idea on what would cause this?

I am recording on a imac 3.2 Ghz core i5, 32 GB Ram, El Cap 10.11.6

This doesn't sound anything like a USB issue to me!Since Audition records direct to disk, I'd say that you need to look carefully at the situation with your HD drive for starters. Was there sufficient space wherever you recorded for nine one-hour tracks?
