Live FX?

Hey everyone,


I've been using Audition for a while now but just basic use to cut up voice over audio, clean up noise, etc.

I'm needing to add some reverb to a VO job and I've been using the Effects Rack but it seems that it has to render the reverb into the sound before exporting a WAV. Are there live FX in Audition? Meaning, if I apply reverb with certain settings, save the file, can I come back later and take out the reverb?

    If you're working in Waveform view, all processes are "destructive" in that they make permanent changes to your file.  You can get around this either by working on a copy or using "Save As" and renaming the file after each process.

    Probably a better alternative though is to do your editing and effects in Multitrack View.  Even with a single track, this gives a very fast and flexible  way to edit and add non destructive (i.e. live) effects which you can change as much as you want.  Once you have every thing finished and you're happy, you then Mixdown (either File/Export/Multitrack Mixdown or Multitrack/Mixdown session to new file).  Either of these will give you a new file with all your edits and effects while leaving your originals intact and unchanged.
