Question

Losing multiband compressor when using track automation bug?

I've been having an issue the last few weeks, where when i'm in a multitrack session, and i'm using a rack effect multiband compressor track FX, as soon as I put the track into write/touch automation mode and then touch the fader, the FX disappears, even though it is powered and looks like it should be working. I'm using the latest version of Audition on Windows 10 PC.

The only way to get the FX back on it, is to stop the track playing and turn the track automation to read, then change the compressor preset to something else and change it back, but again when I put the track back into Write/Touch or move fader it loses the FX again. I'm only using the volume automation lane.

I deleted my Audition settings data and created a brand new session and still can replicate this bug.

Have also tried this on a Mac using the latest audition and can replicate the bug there too.

Can someone else replicate this?

This is the standard Multiband Compressor built in to the latest version of Audition CC2017? Seems to work OK here in a quick test on my Win7 PC. But this was using the mouse to control the volume automation envelope. Are you using an external controller?

Does this happen only when using one particular track in the Multitrack view. If you move to a different numbered track does it still happen?

    Thanks for checking.

Yeah, standard multiband compressor built into Audition, I normally use the broadcast preset, but was also using the walkie talkie preset to confirm I was losing the effect, I tried other FX but they all seemed to work fine

I'm using an external controller (Faderport 8) , but could replicate the issue with the controller unplugged and control surface removed from the settings)

    It's happening on every track.

If I look at the effects rack window, it greys out whilst this is happening.
