Lost hours of editing as saved files have disappeared adobe audition

Can anyone help me? I've lost hours of editing done last Wed and Thur. I had mixed tracks in multitrack and saved the mixed tracks as mp3's. I left my computer on overnight Thur, and when I woke it up on Friday morning it said it had unexpectedly closed. Now I can't see the mixed tracks I created. I'm desperate as I have a deadline looming. I edited a whole lot of new stuff on Friday and this is all there and in 'open recently'. Please can anyone help me?

Is this a PC or a Mac? We have no clues at all to go on here, except to say that once you've saved an MP3, Audition can't get rid of it - so do you know the location you stored it in? Strikes me that if the computer closed itself down, then there will be a potentially more serious problem in the machine itself. Your file is probably there somewhere; even crashing OS's don't tend to destroy files, after all...

Let me move this to the Audition forum for you, which is the appropriate forum for your question. I hope someone there will be able to help you find your files.
