Question

low muddy voice

Hi I have a recording from a video where the cable for the mic was broken.

Because of this the voice sound "muddy" and low. Like talking through a pillow.

I can hear what is being said, I found out how to boost the sound, so it is not as low and remove the noise.

But it is still "muddy," and there are no tone differences in the voice.

How can I fix this. what tool or effect can I use?

Please help me.... ❤️ I don't have a clue what to do.

I attached a bit of the original sound

 Best regards

Anne

Difficult. Unfortunately you have no content to speak of above 4kHz, and that's where the clarity would have to come from. In an attempt to find out whether there was anything else left above 4kHz, I applied a vicious amount of parametric EQ to it:

and then applied the Vocal Enhancer to it, set to Low Tone (this sounded better than High Tone). It's an improvement inasmuch as the words are a little clearer, but it's not brilliant (pun intended...).

Thank you so much SteveG 🙂 I will try - This is a difficult one I know, and I am new to editing sound, so all help is appreciated. I normally only edit the visuals so I am so happy for your help 🙂
