Mac Trackpad Pinch and Zoom Stops Working

This is making me a little crazy. Intermittently and with no apparent reason, pinch and zoom will just stop working temporarily in Audition. I can scroll and otherwise manipulate the session, but cannot pinch and zoom. If I bring the pointer up to the zoom bar I can use that, but can't zoom from the trackpad. If I click around in the timeline and just keep pinching and zooming it eventually comes back. I'm going a little nutty here. Anyone have any suggestions?

Running the latest version of CC Audition, 22.5 on a 2017 MacBook Pro.

This is two years later but I have the same issue in illustrator, indesign, and photoshop. I don't know why it still happens and I have little hope since apparently it was an issue two years ago and is for me today. I can command key zoom but I go a little crazy when I can't zoom with my trackpad. I use an M1 Macbook Air btw that I just got this year.

Happens with indesign, illustrator, and photoshop for me as well. Wish I knew how to fix it 😞

Sorry, I don't get the problem here on 2019 iMac on Monterey 12.3 using magic trackpad.

Only fails if the focus is not on the timeline or track.

Do you have the issues in other programs?

You could always check in System Preferences:

No, the problem is unique to Audition. No issues with pinch and zoom elsewhere. System Prefs are appropriately set. It's an intermittent problem. Sometimes it works, but every once in a while it just stops. Focus is on the multitrack editing screen and I have to keep clicking the cursor around while pinching and zooming for it to start working again eventually. I forgot to mention that I'm running Monterey 12.4. I keep my OS and my Audition up to date whenever a new version is released. I swear, I'm not crazy and I'm a card-carrying geek. I don't usually find any "computer issues" that I can't fix myself. I spend all day working in Audition. This is making me nuts.
