Match eq Between 2 Clips

I am using 2 different cloud-based software to record podcast interviews, Cast and Ringr. I really like the sound that comes from Cast, but sometimes their platform isn't reliable. I recorded an interview on Ringr, but their processed audio version has a lot of dropouts in the audio, so I am using the raw files instead.

I have been playing with eq and different effects for hours trying to get the sound of the raw audio to sound like the processed files from Cast, but I am not that great at working with audio to be able to get it spot on. Is there a way to somehow analyze the audio from Cast, and then auto-apply that to the raw files to get it to sound similar?

I ended up learning more about effects and started to add eq and compression to make the raw file sound better than what I think the other file sounded like. Took some work, but at least I saved the workflow so it can be repeated again. Thanks for the help!

If it's just a matter of matching the EQ, then you need a filter that has the facility - like Voxengo's Match EQ or FabFilter Pro - there are others available too. Unfortunately Audition doesn't do this natively though. Chances are that there's more happening with it, and that would be a lot harder to deal with. For instance, if they've used compression effects, then it will be pretty much impossible to undo that, as you'd have no idea at all of what they did in the first place. And even if you did, the chances of an accurate reversal of that are pretty much zero. So the EQ you could do, but that's about it.

But you could possibly post a sample from each for us to take a listen to. We might be able to advise a bit better then on what the differences are. However you will have to use a third party file posting system like Dropbox or Google Drive since the Adobe Forums don't offer that ability unfortunately.
